Environmental functional mineral materials, referred to as environmental mineral materials, refer to a type of mineral materials composed of minerals and their modified products that have good coordination with the ecological environment or have the functions of preventing pollution and restoring the environment (Lu 1997, 2001; Liao et al. 2012b). Environmental mineral materials are mainly processed and prepared from natural mineral rocks and usually have environmentally friendly characteristics. In environmental governance, environmental mineral materials are mainly applied in water pollution control, air pollution control, soil pollution control and desertification control, radioactive pollution control, solid waste utilization, etc. In recent years, due to the increasing attention to the ecological environment and the environmentally-friendly and cost-effective advantages of mineral materials themselves, the research and application of environmental mineral materials has become one of the most active directions in mineral materials science.
