This chapter begins with the mechanism and mathematical model for noise generation in the three parts of a communication system: laser, channel, and detector. Based on the optical-wireless communication system shown in Fig.  1.2 , and the causal relationships affecting optical-wireless communication shown in Fig.  1.1 , various factors affecting the noise model in a wireless laser communication system are analyzed.
