Visible-Light Communication Path-Loss Model

The objective of this chapter is to develop an analytical model of the intervehicle visible-light communication (VLC) channel, focusing on the channel path loss under different weather conditions, as this is an important metric for quantifying the communication channel. Finding mathematical expressions to describe the channel path loss is essential for establishing link budgets and predicting communication performance, based on the signal-to-noise ratio and bit-error rate.
