摘要

Digital fabrication technology, also known as 3D printing or additive manufacturing, transforms digital representations into tangible objects through the successive addition of materials. This technology has rapidly gained prominence and is now widely adopted across various industries. Today, 3D printing finds extensive application in mass customization and the production of diverse open-source designs in fields such as agriculture, healthcare, automotive manufacturing, locomotive production, and aviation. In this research, we have employed a Scientometric approach to evaluate the contemporary research developments spanning from 2000 to 2023 and assess their impact. The significant annual growth rate of 9.098% suggests that there is poised to be substantial research expansion in this field. There exists a considerable quantity of publications, specifically 590, as well as a noteworthy collection of research papers, totaling 1523. Moreover, there exists a substantial community of 4837 authors who are actively involved in this particular topic. International collaboration plays a significant role in the production of research, accounting for approximately 17.07% of the overall research output. The average number of citations per page is roughly 20.88, highlighting the significant impact within this fast-growing field. India holds a dominant position in this specific area, with a higher number of published articles and authors in comparison to all other countries. This study serves as a helpful resource for aspiring researchers interested in doing investigations in this field.
