Phase Transformation Modelling During the Material Deposition Using Friction Stir Additive Manufacturing
摘要
Additive manufacturing is widely used in different manufacturing industries than the conventional manufacturing processes. The friction stir additive manufacturing is an environment friendly solid-state additive manufacturing process with various advantages. In this study finite element phase modelling has been estimated to predict the solidification behaviour of the deposit material over substrate using FSAM. Interface temperature distribution has also been analysed through the finite element model because practically during machining condition, it is not possible to measure the temperature at the interface. The investigation revealed that the temperature is sufficient to initiate the melting process for effective joining of the material layers with each other.
