To Improve the Core TPH/Productivity of Logistic Sort Center Using Auto-sorter Automation and Industrial Management

摘要

Logistics centres uses fully automated sortation system now a days as one of the basic component of the distribution process. It increases the productivity without increasing the labour cost. This research includes improving existing processes, reducing waste in the process, optimizing manpower, reducing inferred hour, frugal innovation, etc. In this research, it is expected to learn how operations at sort centre are run, what resources are required, how to make the process leaner etc. As a result, it has been decided to invest in an auto sorter automation system as the next step to increase efficiency and productivity. Time Motion Study has been used as a tool to study the non-monitored processes involved in Sortation. This method reduces the manpower, corrected the position of workers, reduces the non-value added (NVA) hours, and reduces the mis-sort of volume. By combining the insights gained from the time motion study with the latest automation technology, a logistic centre is well-positioned to streamline the processes, enhance the productivity, reduce labour costs, minimize error and improve the overall customer experience. The productivity has been improved by 26% after implementing the auto sorter automation system in the logistics center.
