Fabrication of Bimetallic Structures Using Additive Manufacturing Process
摘要
Nowadays, the importance of metal additive manufacturing techniques increases in industries to save production and supply chain costs by enabling more structures to be produced on demand within hours and in the desired quantity. It greatly reduces stock and the need to make moulds. The preparation of bimetallic structures is a critical issue. Therefore, this paper provides a review of the capabilities of the metal additive manufacturing process for the preparation of bimetallic structures with the emphasis on structural stability performance, defect analysis, material and geometric properties, mechanical and metallurgical characterization. Heat treatment effects, analysis of controlling parameters and design of bimetallic structural optimization techniques suitable for construction are discussed. The latest structures fabricated by this route, experimental setups, and the role of the coefficient of thermal expansion are pointed out. Lastly, a conclusion with the future research direction is provided.
