Machine Learning-Based Water Need Estimation for Smart Irrigation System

In our society precision irrigation is quite important for both the environment and the socioeconomic system. It is necessary to make the best use of the limited clean water resources available on the planet. Estimating water needs is a crucial step in realizing the full benefits of precision irrigation since it establishes the appropriate amount, timing, and location of irrigation. In order to achieve this, this study provides an open-source smart model that makes use of machine learning and artificial intelligence to predict the water requirements of an irrigation area. The requisite data is collected from cloud servers however, the model can also work on real-time sensed data.
