This chapter starts with differentiation and integration methods for series sums. These techniques are applied to get some well-known series sums. The problems listed in this chapter mainly involve the binomial coefficients. Many of the problems are special cases of problems in Chap. 2. The remaining problems can be solved by the techniques developed in this chapter. The chapter also teaches about summing series involving powers of 2. All these series have one thing in common. They involve two types of terms: several similar terms and one dissimilar term. The dissimilar term consumes the similar terms successively, finally yielding a dissimilar term, which is the sum of the series.
