Disease-Resistant Genes and Signal Transduction Pathways and Their Applications in Disease Management
摘要
The intricate defense mechanisms that plants evolved to fend off various infections and pests. When infections can get past infection-preventing mechanical challenges, plant receptors start signaling pathways that cause the production of genes involved in the defense response. The ability of plant immune mechanisms to recognize pathogen chemicals, carry out signal transduction, and mount a defensive response through pathways involving multiple genes and their byproducts is essential to their ability to operate. Pathogens choose a decentralized, multicomponent immune system in a deliberate effort to dodge and disrupt response pathways. The study of plant immunity has significantly increased because of recent developments in molecular approaches, partly because of their potential applications to farming systems. There, we go through the key elements of the plant defense system, the current state of knowledge, and the route that plant-pathogen association research will take going forward. In this overview, we will go over how the decentralization of crop defense mechanisms has enhanced the potential for pathogen resistance evolution as well as given pathogens more ways to counteract such defensive responses. We conclude that the rapid growth of information being sparked by the fast advances in the fields of molecular biology along bioinformatics shall boost agricultural output and illuminate how complex molecular linkages emerge.
