摘要

Metabolomics refers to systematically identifying all metabolites, low-molecular-weight final or intermediate products of enzyme reactions, and their quantity in a particular biological sample or organism. Metabolomics can be utilized to determine biomarkers representing human diseases via consistent and accurate evaluations of metabolites. It also can provide optimal strategies for discovery, development, and predictions about the effects of the drug. Metabolomics can research exposome. However, not to be an exception, this technology has to face many challenges, not only with biological issues but also issues involving regulation, economy, and education. This article aims to provide the most comprehensive overview of the ethical, legal, economic, and educational issues related to metabolomics. The compiled evidence is a valuable reference for researchers and managers who are developing and disseminating metabolomics technology in the future.
