摘要

Secondary metabolites are produced by plants as a defense strategy against attacks from herbivores, microorganisms, and ultraviolet light since they are produced by the plant. The interactions that these metabolites have with other creatures, like as people and pollinators, are also something that they influence. Terpenoids and flavonoids are both used as food additives and have properties that can be used for therapeutic purposes. The regulation of transcription of biosynthetic genes is the primary mechanism that controls the synthesis of secondary metabolites in plants. This mechanism is responsible for the majority of the regulation. It is the responsibility of several transcription factors to regulate the activity of genes involved in metabolic pathways. These pathways are influenced by both internal and external occurrences. The goal of this chapter is to investigate the regulation of transcription factors that are engaged in secondary metabolism in plants, with a particular emphasis on the pathways that involve phenylpropanoid and terpenoid indole alkaloid. In this chapter, we will talk about the genetic levels as well as the protein levels.
