Cancer is a disease where cells grow uncontrollably. Some stubborn cells, called cancer stem cells (CSCs), make treatment hard. Research has found tiny particles to target these CSCs, and they use glucose labels to get in and deliver drugs. Special particles like dendrimers, nanovesicles, and liposomes team up to sneak into tumors and deliver medicines with minimal harm to healthy cells. Other tiny particles, such as quantum dots (QDs), magnetic nanoparticles, and liposomal nanoparticles, are designed for treatment. Cancer cells grow fast and live longer by using extra glucose. They have special “GLUT” receptors to bring in more glucose. Scientists use glucose-coated nanoparticles (Glu-GNPs) to deliver treatments to cancer cells. Cancer treatment, like chemotherapy, can be limited by drug resistance (MDR), causing treatment to fail. Nanoparticles come to the rescue by delivering multiple drugs to cancer cells. Different types of nanoparticles, both inorganic like iron oxide and gold and organic like liposomes and polymeric particles, can be used. They target tumor cells without harming healthy ones, offering hope for better treatment.
