Implementation of PID Controller for Large Scale Systems Using Hybrid Model Order Reduction
摘要
Controller design for large scale systems is quite a compelling and time-consuming task. A suitable model order reduction strategy can be used to make this design process easier and efficient. Hence, in this paper, a hybrid model reduction strategy utilizing Factor division and Routh approximation methods is proposed to get the reduced order model of a higher order system. PID controller is designed for the reduced order system and same is implemented on the actual higher order system to meet the desired specifications. The proposed approach is validated through an illustrative numerical example of a missile control system. This strategy is easier to be implemented due to the reduced order system. Also, the reduction of about 36% in computational time is obtained by the proposed approach as obtained by the MATLAB profiler.
