MoS2: The New Avenue in Biomedical Applications
摘要
Present-day antibiotics pose a threat to human life by inducing antimicrobial resistance. The pressing priority is to minimize the use of antibiotics by providing a stable alternative strategy. Molybdenum disulphide (MoS2) and its nanocomposites have piqued the interest of scientists due to their high conductivity, exceptional catalytic activity, and favourable optical characteristics. The current study deals with deep insights to develop creative MoS2 fabricated nanomaterials and strategies to engineer next-generation antibacterial agents. Two-dimensional MoS2 as a potential candidate for use in drug delivery in various cancerous cell lines is explored. The ability of MoS2-based nanocomposite for controlled drug release and target selectively against tumour cell is comprehensively discussed. The properties of MoS2 nanocomposite and its usage in biomedical applications are in sync with the new era of cancer therapy and nanotheranostics.
