MoS2 for Hydrogen Evolution Reaction
摘要
Recently, for obtaining a sustainable and clean energy source, the electrocatalytic hydrogen evolution reaction (HER) using different materials was envisaged as one of the interesting subjects. In this chapter on recent advances in MoS2- for HER production, we have discussed the fundamental material properties that determine the catalytic activity for HER. It also explains how surface structures and properties will govern HER activity and stability. The comparison between MoS2 and other HER catalysts has been outlined accordingly based on some of the important characteristics, which depend on the performance of an electrocatalyst. This chapter explains that different characteristics such as crystallization modulation, structure and phase engineering, nanostructure fabrication, modulating current density distribution, defect engineering etc. will provide a fine-tuning in HER mechanism and further reactivity for MoS2 and MoS2-based polymorphs.
