Bioprospecting Endophytic Fungi from Fusarium Genus as Sources of Bioactive Metabolites
摘要
The global landscape of health is dynamic. The emergence and re-emergence of diseases present great challenges that demand attention to find alternative solutions to combat health issues. Amidst these issues, the endophytic microbes are a beacon of hope that provides novel metabolites to combat the health threats leveraging humanity. Endophytic fungi are a great source of compounds that could serve as potential leads. The most diverse and highly reported genus of endophytic fungi is Fusarium spp. They produce diverse metabolites with varied biological activities, namely antimicrobial, anti-inflammatory, anticancer, antioxidant, and many more. This chapter focuses on the metabolites secreted by the endophytic Fusarium spp. and their biological activities.
