Currently, there has been no experimental basin specifically designed for submerged floating tunnels (SFT) both domestically and internationally. Based on extensive references to numerous hydraulic engineering experimental basins worldwide, the China Merchants Chongqing Communications Technology Research and Design Institute Co., Ltd., has established a specialized laboratory for subaqueous tunnel construction technology as part of the National Engineering Laboratory for Highway Tunnel Construction Technology.
