The study focuses on understanding public transport user’s willingness to pay (WTP) for Advanced traveler informations (ATIS) using a stated preference survey in Kottayam-Pampady route. An ordered probit model has been used in this study to find the most significant factors affecting WTP for ATIS. The survey method adopted was bus stop survey and sample size selected was 450. Four models were developed which depicts WTP for four information bundles with different informations grouped together. The ordered probit analysis result suggests that the significant factors affecting WTP for model 1 namely Information bundle 1(IB1) consisting of informations arrival time, travel time and seat availability include gender, age, monthly family income, trip travel time, trip frequency, trip purpose and trip length. Similarly for model 2 namely Information bundle 2 (IB2) consisting of fare information, information about station location and no of transfers required, the significant factors were education, income, trip travel time and trip frequency. For model 3 namely Information bundle 3 (IB3), consisting of informations frequency of service, park and ride facility and schedule of bus displayed at stops and model 4 namely Information bundle 4 (IB4) consisting of four highly variable informations among the first three bundles namely arrival time, seat availability, schedule of bus displayed at stops and park and ride facility, the significant factors were found to be the same which includes gender, education, monthly income, trip travel time and trip frequency. Also, model comparison results suggest that Information bundle 1 (IB1) is the most demanded information bundle as it has the highest −2 log likelihood and hence found beneficial to service provider in policy implementations.
