Future of Nanoimaging

The use of nanotechnology in medicine has made a major impact on healthcare and in the future will be one of the imaging modalities for the prevention, early diagnosis, and better management of diseases. The major landmark in nanomedicine is the design and newer development of nanoparticles in nanomedicines (NNMs), which will be useful for drug delivery. NNMs can be used for the effective delivery of drugs by various processes like solubilization, passive targeting, active targeting, and scheduled release by triggered mechanisms. This advancement has led to a significant increase in therapeutic efficiency by adjusting the effective doses to maintain the various side effects. This has led to a significant change in the concept of the bench to the bedside, despite many challenges that need to be addressed. This study has shown a great response for the clinical translation of NNMs, which are focused pathways for the development of the concept of translational and personalized medicine. Other issues are the various biological challenges related to the preparation of various nanomedicines, their biocompatibility and safety issues, intellectual property (IP), government regulations, and cost-effectiveness of all these as compared to the currently available therapies.
