Development of Nanotheronostics

Nanoparticle technologies have impacted human lives in many ways, especially in imaging, due to significant changes in therapeutic and diagnostic applications. Theranostics is a newer term that is being coined where the diagnostic and therapeutic aspects of the same disease can be addressed by a single agent. Many nanoagents are used based on their different physical and chemical properties and are used as carriers of drugs or contrast agents. Various agents are available, such as different molecules, metals, metal oxides, ultrasonic contrast agents, and radionuclides.
