摘要

Nanotechnology has revolutionized its use in various aspects, especially with magnetic inorganic nanometer-sized colloidal particles. This has significant potential for various applications seen in preclinical applications, and later they will be used in clinical applications. The most common use will be in cancer therapies, as nanocarriers for various drugs used in theranostics. A lot of effort is directed at formulating iron oxide NPs (IONPs) with superparamagnetic (SPM) properties, a combination with better advantages like larger surface-to-volume ratio, improved biocompatibility, easier bonding to various ligands, selective-site moieties, and/or organic and inorganic corona shells. These designs will be useful for SPIONs in functions such as delivering drugs to local sites, which can be monitored live at the targeted area. The various adjustments to the nanoparticles’ physical states and chemical milieu will be tailor-made for safer use of advanced magnetic ferrous nanomaterials.
