Magnetic resonance imaging has led to the best soft tissue contrast in medical imaging. The principle behind this is that when a strong magnetic field is applied to the tissues in the range of the magnetic strengths of 1.5 or 3 T, there will be an alignment of the magnetic moments of the protons, which will result in the equilibrium of the magnetization along the longitudinal axis. In this chapter, there will be a detailed discussion of the various aspects of imaging.
