Traditionally, microsurgical reconstruction has faced a significant challenge in preoperatively determining a suitable blood vessel to nourish the entire flap to be transferred. This difficulty was further compounded by the emergence of perforator flaps, due to their high anatomical diversity, including variations in the location and size of the perforator vessels, as well as in their course through the muscles and branching in the subcutaneous tissue.
