In contemporary society, the term “governance” is used in a multiplicity of different ways across disciplines (Kersbergen and Waarden 2004). It is often associated with the social function of decision-making and the process by which decisions are implemented. Good governanceGood governance is perceived in the West today as a proper management of the state, society, and resources, characterized by certain attributes such as accountability, consensus-orientation, transparency, responsiveness, effectiveness, equalityEquality, and inclusiveness.
