Effective management solutions are necessary due to the considerable environmental issues posed by liquid waste resulting from a variety of home, industrial, and agricultural operations. This thorough analysis examines several facets of liquid waste, including its sources, disposal methods, and related environmental impacts. It also explores both established and novel treatment approaches, such as biological treatment, applications of nanotechnology, biofilm utilization, physical and chemical treatment methods. The first section looks at the sources of liquid waste, which includes runoff from farms, municipal sewage, and industrial effluents. It assesses the disposal methods used today, highlighting the significance of environmentally friendly and sustainable techniques to reduce harmful effects on the environment. The assessment emphasizes how urgent it is to manage liquid waste by implementing circular economy principles. The emphasis then turns to a thorough examination of several therapeutic approaches. The effectiveness of biological treatment techniques, such as anaerobic digestion, phytoremediation, and activated sludge processes, in eliminating both organic and inorganic contaminants, is evaluated. Modern nanotechnology applications for improved pollutant removal and remediation are highlighted, along with the integration of these technologies into the treatment of liquid waste.
