The complex interactions between microbes and minerals affect biogeochemical cycles, ecosystem structure and function, and environmental management in profound patterns. By influencing mineral transformations that impact nutrient cycling, soil health, and involved pollutants through various mechanisms that contribute to the immobilization, degradation, or detoxification of pollutants, microbe–mineral interactions play a crucial role in environmental pollution and management.
