A Review on Issues in Implementation of Cost of Quality Tool in Construction Industry
摘要
In the construction industry, prioritizing quality over cost can be a challenging task for organizations/firms. Failing to manage quality effectively can lead to additional costs and time extensions, and focusing solely on time and cost control can impact the overall quality of a project. As a result, there is a discrepancy in the implementation of quality management tools. Even though there is a vast amount of information on quality costs in the manufacturing sector, the construction industry has been comparatively sluggish in implementing effective quality management tools to improve quality and reduce cost. To gain a comprehensive understanding of quality-related costs in the construction industry, it is necessary to conduct a thorough systematic review. To perform a systematic literature review (SLR), this study employs 60 peer-reviewed papers accessible from the home institution. The objective of the current research is to examine different issues in implementation of cost of quality (COQ) tool and analyse different strategies used in the construction industry. A framework was developed utilizing NVivo tools to provide an in-depth representation of the issues and strategies related to COQ. The study presents future research ideas that have been identified in the literature in a logical manner. This makes it useful for both academics and practitioners who can use it to enhance this field based on the suggested areas for future research.
