摘要

Universities with associated research institutions are viewed favorably in the whole process of quality assurance in education. The aim of this study was to find out the differences between teachers of the faculties of Economics of the University of Seville (US) and Universidad Nacional Santiago Antúnez de Mayolo (UNASAM) in terms of burnout, in a total of 68 university teachers. 58.82% of them were men compared to 41.18% women, and they were evaluated with the Maslach Burnout Questionnaire, both with adequate psychometric properties. Among the main results, US and UNASAM teachers report significantly different levels of emotional exhaustion from teaching, depersonalization, and low personal fulfillment from teaching and research. Similarly, they reveal substantial gender variations in low levels of personal fulfillment. The main conclusion reached is that teachers and researchers in the departments of Economics at both the University of Seville and UNASAM have similar levels of experience with burnout syndrome and its aspects regardless of age. This study highlights the critical need for addressing burnout among university faculty, aligning with Sustainable Development Goal 3 (SDG 3), which promotes good health and well-being, emphasizing the importance of mental health and well-being in the academic sector.
