Day-Ahead Optimal Scheduling of Combined Wind Power Generation System Considering the Operation Characteristics of Pumped Storage

The operation of the whole power grid depends heavily on pumped storage power stations (PSPS), which are now the most significant source of energy storage and peak-regulating power supply in the power system. To achieve the highest wind farm revenue and minimize wind power fluctuation, a daily scheduling model for wind pumping and storage operation is constructed in this paper. The working principle and functional characteristics of power plants with pumped storage are analyzed. On this basis, the operation mechanism of PSPS is reformed and modeled, and the daily scheduling model is constructed. Second, implementing the scheduling model with an enhanced multifaceted particle swarm optimizing technique creates every unit's operation coordination plan. Last but not least, the MATLAB platform demonstrates the financial feasibility of the combined wind power-pumping and storage operation model, which effectively achieves the wind farm's highest possible efficiency and promotes the electricity system's operational stability.
