Northeast China During the Xia to Warring States Period: A Temporal and Spatial Framework of the Archaeological Cultures
摘要
Chapter Eight focuses on the spatio-temporal framework of archaeological cultures from the Xia period to the Warring States period. By comparing and integrating the chronological coordinates of archaeological cultures across the seven regions established in the previous seven chapters, it is revealed that the origins of archaeological cultures in Northeast China during the Xia to Warring States periods were diverse, while their cultural development remained continuous. Despite variations in the evolutionary pace across different regions, cultural changes were generally synchronous. Based on this synchronicity, the entire period is divided into four stages: the Xia to early Shang period, the late Shang period, the Western Zhou to Spring and Autumn period, and the Warring States period. Thus, through both vertical (temporal) and horizontal (spatial) analyses, the spatio-temporal framework of archaeological cultures in Northeast China from the Xia period to the Warring States period has been constructed.
