The Impact of Climate Change in the Eastern Himalayan State of Sikkim, India: A Review
摘要
There is no doubt in the scientific community that climate change (CC) poses a threat to both the health of the earth and the welfare of humankind. Since mountain ecosystems are vulnerable to CC more quickly than any other ecosystems worldwide, it is imperative to increase our understanding of the impacts of CC and also to increase efforts to adapt to it. In order to assess the effects of CC on agriculture, forestry, water resources, disasters, and biodiversity in the Eastern Himalayan State of Sikkim, India, the current study reviewed secondary data from literature studies and scientific journals. Additionally, it also highlights important environmental initiatives for combating the adverse impacts of CC in Sikkim.
