Human Settlement, Inhabitation, and Travel Environment Studies in Valley Region

  • Binyi Liu

摘要

Valley is a form of river geomorphology, which is a trough-shaped valley with bands of extensions formed by long-term action of rivers. From the cross section of the river valley, it can be divided into valley bottom and valley slope. Valley bottom includes riverbeds and floodplains; valley slope is the bank slope on both sides of the river valley, where river terraces are often developed. The junction of the valley slope and the valley bottom is called the valley slope foothill, and the junction of the valley slope and the original hillside or ground is called valley shoulder or valley edge.
