Research on Implementation Strategy of Overall Refurbishment of Digital Instrument Control System in Nuclear Power Plant

The digital instrumentation and control systems (DCS) in the early-built nuclear power plants are facing issues such as equipment aging, discontinuation, and increasing maintenance costs, making system upgrades and renovations an inevitable trend. However, due to the large and complex scope of the control system overhaul project, implementing renovations during the tight outage window of a nuclear power plant will impact the overall outage duration and plant safety. Taking the renovation of a digital I&C platform system in a nuclear power plant as an example, this paper analyzes the specific implementation process, discusses overall online implementation strategies, and proposes a mature and highly reliable renovation implementation plan.
