Risk Assessment Quantification of Pumped Storage Power Station Based on Fishbone Diagram Analysis and Comprehensive Evaluation Model

The pumped storage power plants in China have developed rapidly with policy support and have become emerging power market players, thanks to a perfect new tariff mechanism that has laid a solid foundation for their high-quality development. However, pumped storage energy still faces some challenges in the new situation. In this paper, through a comprehensive analysis of the existing literature, we consider the risk aspects of pumped storage participation in the electricity market and identify key impact factors based on fishbone diagram analysis, and construct a corresponding evaluation index system. Subsequently, a comprehensive evaluation model is constructed using the material element topologizable method. Finally, an example analysis of a pumped storage power station is carried out, and the risk evaluation grade is good. The research in this paper will promote the healthy and orderly development of pumped storage power plants, improve their reliability and economy in the power system.
