摘要

Monoclonal antibodies (mAbs) over the past three decades have been serving as a powerful tool in cancer immunotherapy, providing possibilities for precise and tailored treatment for different types of cancer. Below, we give a summary of the mAbs and their mechanism of action in the cancer immunotherapy, highlighting their ability to target tumour antigens, activate immune effector cells, and block immune checkpoint pathways. We review the current prospect of approved mAbs for cancer treatment, including those targeting the immune system and cancer cells. We also discuss the preclinical and clinical development of mAbs in cancer immunotherapy, as well as the challenges and future directions in the field. Additionally, we explore the emerging area of combination therapies with mAbs, including their use in combination with chemotherapy and other immunotherapies. Overall, this chapter provides a detail account of the role of mAbs in cancer immunotherapy and highlights the potential for further developments in this field.
