Inorganic Nanoparticles-Based Strategies for Cancer Immunotherapy

The inorganic nanoparticles are recently one of the leading nanocarrier systems for the treatment of cancer. It is because of their distinct physical and molecular characteristics, compliant synthetic techniques, and simplicity in surface functionalization. Besides, they are also biocompatible with the body internal environments. The inorganic nanoparticles can improve the therapeutic efficacy in the treatment of cancer through site-specific accumulation, targeted drug delivery, and stimulated drug release as well as by enhancing the immune system of the body. This book chapter emphasizes on various types of inorganic nanoparticle-based strategies for cancer immunotherapy including magnetic nanoparticles (MNPs), gold nanoparticles (GNPs), mesoporous silica nanoparticles (MSNPs), quantum dots (QDTs), and carbon nanotubes (CNTs). Moreover, it also includes the recent research and prospects of recent nanotechnology-based cancer immunotherapy.
