Resource-Constrained Offloading in Edge Computing
摘要
As edge computing evolves, the need to process data at the edge of the network becomes more pressing, driven by the demand for real-time data processing and improved user interactions. However, this shift presents significant challenges, particularly in terms of resource constraints and privacy concerns. This chapter provides an overview of resource-constrained offloading, followed by offloading strategies, and potential scenarios. A computation model for local execution and task offloading is presented. Furthermore, the chapter reviews existing studies on task dependency, offloading to fog devices, dynamic offloading frameworks, and centralized versus distributed task offloading. Finally, the chapter highlights the challenges associated with resource-constrained offloading.
