Chat2Fluency: Enhancing Language Learning Through Conversational AI

This paper presents a multilingual chatbot system specifically designed to revolutionize language learning in low-resource languages like Hindi. Powered by the advanced GPT4ALL language model and seamless English-Hindi translation, the system facilitates natural Hindi conversations. However, its innovation goes beyond mere translation. It integrates a pioneering Grammatical Error Correction (GEC) module meticulously fine-tuned using a Google MT5 model. This novel feature offers real-time, personalized grammar feedback directly within the chatbot, empowering users to learn and improve their language skills through interactive practice. Our contribution lies not only in enabling natural Hindi communication but also in pioneering GEC for low-resource language learning, pushing the boundaries of MT5 fine-tuning. This research has the potential to transform language learning, particularly for users with limited access to traditional resources, by providing immersive practice with personalized feedback within a natural conversational setting.
