Design of Speed Controller of DC Motor Considering Saturation of Actuator

摘要

In company with the increment in mechanical load connected with a motor circuit, it is observable that there is a decrement in the motor’s speed. There are a lot of controllers, which are introduced in the industry for the objective of controlling the velocity of DC motors along with the variation of mechanical load. In most of the cases, the measured output velocity of a motor circuit does not match with the desired speed, i.e., the measured output velocity of motor is not up to the mark as compared to the desired one, because of neglecting some kind of losses during the whole process. Generally, the saturation property of the actuator is not considered at the time of introducing speed controllers for different kinds of motor circuits. In this paper by considering the saturation property of the actuator, a controller device for speed control of DC motor is introduced and all the measurements are also taken accordingly. The stabilization criterion of the controller is derived with the assistance of Lyapunov function and linear matrix inequality. The test system is virtually simulated by the use of MATLAB/SIMULINK, and the performance of the designed controller device is also compared with other existing controllers.
