Capturing Grid Synchronization Failure Upon Detecting Bad Voltage/Frequency
摘要
This paper presents a novel system design to identify synchronization failures of external power grid by monitoring abnormal frequency and voltage levels. The main objective of the system is to protect the load by automatically disconnecting any failed feeder from the grid in the event of a deviation from acceptable voltage and frequency limits. The power grid is typically supplied by various power generation units such as hydroelectric, thermal, and solar power plants, each of which must adhere to the grid’s rules and regulations to maintain voltage and frequency stability. The system ensures that any deviation from these limits leads to immediate disconnection of the affected feeder, known as islanding.
