Frequency Stability Analysis of Multi-area Power System Using Sine–Cosine Algorithm
摘要
This paper illustrates the concept of tuning of proportional-integral-derivative (PID) controller using sine–cosine algorithm (SCA) for frequency regulations in multi-area large-scale power system with storage units that are interconnected through tie-lines. Simulation of step response analysis for deviations in the frequencies of the two areas and power of tie-line has been provided. Robustness analysis of controller due to change in parameters also has been provided in this work. It is analyzed that the sine–cosine-based frequency controller provides better stability in the presence of super-magnetic energy storage (SMES) when compared with that without SMES for different operating conditions.
