Gaussian Copula-Based Sequence Operations: A Detailed Implementation Study
摘要
This paper aims to comprehensively portray the sequence operations’ applicability: a mathematical tool for solving complex power system problems. Sequence operations only apply to discrete sequences, so understanding the steps of discretizing probability distributions to obtain corresponding discrete sequences is essential and is elucidated in this paper thoroughly. Further, including the Copula density function to make sequence operations incorporate different degrees of correlation is summarized. Finally, the parametric and nonparametric probability distribution of input random variables and associated correlation cases are accounted for, investigating the accuracy in the calculation of the sequence operations by comparing the probability plots of sequence-operated result variables with that of Monte-Carlo simulation results. The study is expected to motivate novice researchers to find opportunities to apply Copula-based sequence operations in power system studies that consider correlated input random variables.
