摘要

The adoption of Hybrid Renewable Energy Systems (HRES) has been expanding in recent years because of the rise in energy demand and low-carbon green growth policies in nations. Hereof hybrid system integrated with renewable energy sources such as Photovoltaic (PV), Wind Turbine (WT), and municipal solid waste fuel-based Biogas Generator (BG) is analyzed with four different feasible configurations. This study aims at the technical and economic viability of HRES for a remote northeastern region of India. The system is designed with available resources of average solar radiation of 4.56 kWh/m \(^2\) /day, average wind speed of 2.5 m/sec, and average municipal solid waste generation of 80.5 tons/day. The simulation and optimization results showed that the combination of PV and BG with battery is the most cost-effective configuration, with promising outcomes in terms of cost and emission. Further, the obtained results are compared and validated with different existing literature. Thus, the present hybrid system is capable of generating electricity in selected area with sustainable environmental development.
