Sustainability and Development of Biomaterials in Textile: A Review
摘要
The industrial revolution has led to increased consumerism, causing challenges in managing waste and sustainability. The textile industry generates hazardous waste and contributes to energy crises and deforestation. To address these issues, biomaterials like collagen fibre, chitosan, alginate, and PLA have been developed. The textile sector is exploring the use of biomaterials to create sustainable and eco-friendly products, tapping into growing consumer demand. This review paper discusses the structure, properties, and extraction methods of these biomaterials, as well as their future possibilities in the textile industry.
