摘要

This chapter delves into the intricate relationship between hepatitis C virus (HCV) and the development of hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC). It provides a comprehensive overview of the epidemiological significance of HCV as a major risk factor for HCC worldwide. The molecular mechanisms underlying HCV-induced hepatocarcinogenesis are explored, emphasizing the interplay between viral proteins, host factors, and the cellular microenvironment. Additionally, the impact of HCV infection on liver cirrhosis progression and its subsequent contribution to HCC pathogenesis are discussed. Furthermore, diagnostic and therapeutic strategies targeting HCV-related HCC are reviewed, highlighting the importance of early detection and personalized treatment approaches in improving patient outcomes. Overall, this chapter aims to enhance our understanding of the multifaceted role of HCV in the development and progression of HCC, thereby paving the way for the development of more effective preventive and therapeutic interventions.
