Predictive Maintenance System and Method Based on Smart Edge Gateways

A new predictive maintenance system and method leveraging intelligent edge gateways is introduced herein to indicate the shortcomings of conventional maintenance practices. The system will anticipate potential failures through continuously real-time monitoring and analyzing the operational data of the equipment, thus improving the whole maintenance efficiency. It is optimally to integrate the edge computing and predictive maintenance with the processing capabilities of smart edge gateways for analyzing the instantaneous data. Furthermore, data security and credibility can be ensured by incorporating blockchain technology. The proposed solution amalgamates edge computing, blockchain, and deep learning techniques, enables to predict precise fault and significantly reduces the delay of data transmission, thus improving processing efficiency of the overall system.
