Research on Improved Smith Predictive Algorithm Based on Double Tank Liquid Level Control System

Aiming at the shortcomings of nonlinearity, large lag, and large inertia in the dual tank control system, an improved Smith algorithm controller was designed by combining conventional Smith control and fuzzy control algorithms. On the basis of analyzing the mathematical model of the dual tank, this article first proposed an improved Smith algorithm that combined conventional Smith predictive control and fuzzy algorithm through theoretical analysis and research on conventional Smith predictive control. Matlab/Simulink was used to simulate the dual tank liquid level control system, and the improved Smith algorithm was found to have good performance in steady-state error, response speed, and Both overshoot and adjustment time were superior to conventional Smith prediction compensation algorithms. The simulation results showed that the improved Smith algorithm combined with fuzzy PID had better control effectiveness and quality.
