CT for Congenital Heart Disease

  • Cristina Fuss

摘要

Congenital heart disease (CHD) accounts for most birth defects in the USA. Many affected patients will survive to adulthood in variable stages of repair. The evaluation of CHD is challenging given the complexity of defects and small organ size, particularly in infancy. CT’s excellent spatial image resolution is helpful in CHD but children require special attention to radiation exposure and contrast dose. Imaging of repaired heart disease requires knowledge of the altered physiology. This chapter provides an overview of cardiac CT’s role in the evaluation and management of CHD.
