Evaluation of the aorta and its major branches by CTA requires providing consistent and accurate measurements. This chapter reviews guidelines and technical tips on how to appropriately measure vascular dimensions. Recognition of normal anatomy and anatomic variation is critical to differentiate normal findings from pathologies of similar appearance. Diseases of the aorta and its major branches may have congenital, inflammatory, infectious, traumatic, or post-operative etiologies. A correct diagnosis is essential for identifying the appropriate management.
